Made another quick trip to Vermilion, OH on Lake Erie to shoot some rail action last weekend (September 5 - 6, 2020)

1. From the marina area sitting by the Vermilion River - NS 9183, 1081 and 1828 are eastbound over the New York Central bridge. Plenty of Labor Day weekend boat traffic and a little smoke from the 9183.

2. Another eastbound with NS 4359 and the Four Aces pass a set of nice benches at the marina.

3. Just upstream on the Nickel Plate bridge is eastbound 178, a Bellevue - Buffalo train with NS 1206, 9892 and 1100.

4. After the eastbound 178, counterpart westbound 179 hits the bridge headed for Bellevue. Power is NS 9477, 4150, 4102.

5. Union Pacific Units (5973, 7409) lead Train 567 with coal west on September 5th as a fisherman enjoys the sunny day.

6. Back over on the NYC side we catch a westbound with NS 7645 leading.

7. September 6th on the New York Central side is NS 4285 and 7681 eastbound.

8. Another interesting piece of transportation seen about town was this 1916 Cadillac V-8.

9. End of the day sunset on Lake Erie - September 5th.

12. On the road home on Labor Day September 7th, CSX 3437, 3411 and 310 are caught eastbound for Buffalo on CSX at Conneaut, OH on former New York Central - ex Lake Shore & Michigan Southern rails.

Great series!

Great series of photos.  Vermillion is one of the best spots on the Lake Shore, a favorite with the local fans.  Another popular spot is the park near the Main Street crossing and the Lake Shore depot, west of the bridge.  The Lake Shore depot is still there, in decent shape.  Does anyone know who owns and maintains the depot?  

 

I think the church right next to it owns it.
