D&H Land September Saturday
Author: train1275

Saturday September 12, 2020

1. Train 23K has just met counterpart 22K and is leaving Delanson bound for Binghamton and points west with NS 4201, 9792 and 7303.

2. The 22K is seen here leaning into the curve at Alplaus, NY just north of Mohawk Yard making the last lap to Mechanicville and the Hudson River. Power on 22K is NS 7542, 9433 and 1052.

3. Closer to Mechanicville at Pierce Road coming into Ushers and just before ducking under I-87 the Northway.

4. About the time 22K was heading into Ushers a glance skyward reveals USAF 80002 (Boeing C-32 military passenger transport) that is normally assigned to the Vice President or First Lady and sometimes other big wigs. Not sure why it was out today. Maybe someone shooting aerials of 22K down below.

5. 22K is coming through the yard at Mechanicville and soon to pass Noonans and roll out over the Hudson River.

6. And here is 22K passing the 11R on the big Hudson River bridge with the Adirondacks in the background.

7. Over at the Mohawk River bridge south of Mohawk Yard a job with MEC 7609 a 1990 built C40-8 still in CSX colors is calling himself 11R. I'm really not sure what that is all about, a transfer job? He was out on the bridge taking head room and then disappeared.

8. After that, the 930 (30T) came through with NS 4369, 1007, 9844 and 4052 a little later than I'd have liked for the light but shot it anyway before dinner called. The 4369 is one of the new rebuilds (AC44C6M) June 2020 in this case. They seem to be frequent lately, no idea what anyone thinks of them.
