Some fall color in the Poconos
Author: hsr_fan

I managed to get aboard one of the popular (and sold out) mid-week excursions on the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale, PA.  The last time I rode this was 20 years ago when I took a trip from Honesdale to Lackawaxen.  This was a shorter Honesdale - Hawley round trip, while some of the weekend runs cover the full branch to Lackawaxen, but it was nice to see the operation still going strong after some ups and downs over the years.  A beautifully restored F7 in PRR colors joined the trusty old BL2 to power the train.

A second F7 in Erie Lackawanna colors sits just beyond where the excursion train boards.

Thanks!  Coincidentally it was 20 years to the day after my first ride on the line.  The new equipment additions certainly add some railfan appeal, but it was nice to see the 'ol BL2 still running too!
