Heading back to Westernport to drop the boy off to his mother, we take a little detour to catch a empty ballast train coming east on the Mountain Sub.

1) W080-15 eastbound at Dawson, MD

2) W080-15 at the Rebecca Road crossing near Pinto, MD

Yes, I know everyone considers Cumberland "Boring"... but to see a 9 year old excited that he caught 8 trains in under 4 hours, I'll take "boring" everyday!

Nice catches and photos. Always liked the church in the background in downtown Cumberland.

I'll take eight trains in four hours! I am not 9. Cumberland is a very pretty scenic city. Plus, nothing is the same as it was some years back.
Forgetting my geography, where does the Thomas sub take off and where is the Mine?

The Interchange Track from Piedmont ends in Beryl, WV. The active part of the Thomas goes east and west from Beryl. The mine load out is west of Bayard, WV ...
