Eastern Railroad Discussion > UP 1111 Visits Mississippi on I-LBNS/22GDate: 10/26/20 08:16 UP 1111 Visits Mississippi on I-LBNS/22G Author: Vicksburg_Route On Sunday, October 25, 2020, Union Pacific SD70ACe 1111, the specially painted unit honoring UP Employees, led Intermodal Train I-LBNS (Intermodal - Long Beach to Meridian, MS - NS) out of Shreveport, Louisiana on the KCS/NS Meridian Speedway. The train would become NS Train 22G at Meridian, and would complete the journey to Atlanta on the NS Meridian to Atlanta mainline. Thanks to a heads up from a friend about 90 miles to my west, I was able to catch the train as it exited the Mississippi River Bridge at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Had a major mechanical failure in Meridian, MS after being handed off to NS. They took the trailer unit off of 225 and added it to the point. Upon it's depareture in Meridian the UP #1111 as they say "crapped out". at 11th ave. They had to put another engine on top of it off west bound NS 225 (ZAILAC -UP) Believe it was dark 30 in the am when it came through Villa Rica. May could have caught it at sunrise in Austell but passed on that! I see UO #1111 is currently in Germantown TN on NS I65 (extra 265 Z-AUGSBD) interchange to the BNSF in Memphis.
