Eastern Railroad Discussion > This Budd's for you! R&N RDC ExcursionsDate: 11/12/20 07:41 This Budd's for you! R&N RDC Excursions Author: tehachapi-dave With the absence of the regular Fall Excursions on the Reading & Northern mainline due to the pandemic, the R&N has been operating their three BUDD RDCs on weekends between North Reading "Outer Station" and Jim Thorpe. Here are a few shots from a chase last month, plus a shot of the railroads F units on a OCS trip to JT. Enjoy!

Conway Scenic in New Hampshire runs them, but they are shorter trips, I believe. Date: 11/13/20 10:10 Re: This Budd's for you! R&N RDC Excursions Author: njmidland How about VIA's Sudbury to White River RDC run? That's almost 400 miles.

I thought that died a few years back but a quick Google search shows it very much alive as of last month. That might be a post covid trip next summer. Date: 11/14/20 11:29 Re: This Budd's for you! The RDC's are full leaving Sudbury but it dwindles down to 2 or 3 passengers by th time you get to White River. Date: 11/14/20 16:36 Re: This Budd's for you! R&N RDC Excursions Author: march_hare A cool, cool trip!
I grew up thinking that Budd cars came from the factory with scratched windows, peeling linoleum floors, and the faint smell of stale urine. All the Budds on B&M, PC, CNJ, and their successors came that way. VIA shows it doesn't have to be that way. Date: 11/15/20 09:39 Re: This Budd's for you! Thanks so much! Date: 11/17/20 15:07 Re: This Budd's for you! R&N RDC Excursions Author: ns1000 Very nice..!!

Did other RDCs get the updated cab? * JB * |
