Eastern Railroad Discussion > Saturday's West Chester Photo FreightDate: 11/16/20 11:24 Saturday's West Chester Photo Freight Author: cr2581 The West Chester Railroad ran a photo freight Saturday with ex B&O Geep 6499 in charge. The advertised MLW was sidelined with generator problems so the EMD did the honors all day. An impromptu night photo session was held afterwards and a good time was had by all. The first two images were taken at Cheney and the last in West Chester. Lighting by John Gabriel.
Enjoy ! Date: 11/16/20 11:48 Re: Saturday's West Chester Photo Freight Author: ClubCar Very nice photos with the exception of number two. Whoever owns that truck, you ruined it by putting modern wheels on it. If you have the original wheels, put them back on to make the photo look like it was from the past.

On the other hand, the posed car shots look just that - posed. Nice shots, Gary - might have come along had I known about either event - Middletown & Hummelsville or this one. Was this a Facebook only posted event? /Mitch Date: 11/16/20 15:31 Re: Saturday's West Chester Photo Freight Author: nycman Are those Chevys a '54 and '51? Or am I losing more memory?

They unfailingly look twice as good as they did in real use. I owned a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang (Yes, sometimes and only sometimes I wish I still owned it, (PITA maintenance intensive but a beast!). Point is this, I bought it, drove it and eventually sold it twelve years later. It needed a new floor due to rust, and many other repairs. It had a fresh blue printed and balanced engine (wish I had that done when I first bought it, holy cow, so much more power!) but the transmission still had a crunchy syncro in 2nd. But then leaded gas went away and pffttt. I sold it for twice what I paid for it and the new owner spent $20K in Eighties dollars and had it totally restored. And yes, unfailingly it looked twice as good as it did, right off the new car lot and in real use.
OK back to railroad, since SEPTA rebuilt the Crum creek Trastle, If I reacll correctly, have they restored a live connection to the outside world or are they still cut off as an island of railroad antiquity? Fun train mixed train. Nice to see a tuscan red B60 in on the move. I've only seen them faded jade green, plinthed in company service. * JB * ClubCar Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Very nice photos with the exception of number > two.
