I am seeking information about this industry, e.g., what it is and who owns it. It is located on the south side of Horton Cove where it empties into the Thames River. Thanks. Bob Kaplan

I believe you are correct. I originally thought it was a lime or cement plant but studying satellite images I could not see any evidence of a kiln. Thank you. Bob Kaplan

I think it was owned by Rock-Tenn when it closed a few years ago.  Currently being torn down.

RockTenn, now WestRock, is a paper-making company.

It was Stone Container when I lived in Connecticut. Corrugated boxes and maybe paper bags. There was also a coal-fired power plant nearby that got its fuel by barge but shipped ash out in hoppers.
