Eastern Railroad Discussion > New NS symbol (to me) 25M?

For the second day in a row I’ve heard a 25M calling signals around Reading, PA. This afternoon I caught it around 4:30pm eastbound in Bowers, PA.

It was a bare table train which leaves me to believe it’s an extra symbol. I did a search here and only found references to posts describing the cost of projects being $25M.

Can anyone provide some info?

I was able to locate one within here, TO.... however it’s from 7 years ago.

25M ERAIL, NJ - GLOBAL 1, IL (UP)

While I haven't been home much recently, I did hear a 25M on the Lurgan recently.

THAT particular 25M started out of Charleston Saturday night as 237. Shortly after leaving Greenville, they crew tied down the train in Central SC and brought power back to Greenville (crew was then taxied to Atlanta). Resymboled 25M and I caught it leaving Greenville around 0830 on Monday. 

25M is an "occasional" baretable symbol out of Charleston, usually to Memphis. 24Q is the "regular" baretable out of Charleston, usually to North Jersey. Both tnd to originate  on Sundays. 

Charleston to Memphis via Reading, PA?  PSR at its finestest.

No, they just slapped that symbol on it. You'll note my post said "usually". Don't know why they didn't change it to 24Q.

Thanks guys, what is interesting is I heard that symbol two days in a row on the Harrisburg east feed. Now I only saw it yesterday, so I suppose it could’ve overnighted in Reading yard.

25M-22 was Greenville, SC - Rutherford, PA.
25M-24 was Reading, PA - Elizabeth Marine, NJ.

Thanks for the update Andrew. It was a strange sequence on Sunday, and I was surprised to find 25M in Greenville on Monday morning.
