Deep into Winter - D&H Land

Kinda deep into the heart of Winter here in Upstate New York.

1. Train 23K passes the ice fishermen at Schenevus Lake north of Oneonta where the hillside trees still exhibit  dusting of frost and snow. Low was around 10 degrees last night. Power is NS 6954, 6915 and 6959 - SD60E's with ACSES II PTC for operation over MBTA.

2. Next we see the 23K with NS 6954 leading passing MP 587 at GR in Afton, NY

3. Also at Afton a short ways behind the 23K is Train 30T with NS 7541 and 7622. Note the plain black paint on the nose with no white stripes.

5. 30T going away passing the McDowell & Walker Feed Mill.

6. Train 16R approaching in the distance at sunset - Otego, NY

Great photography. Interesting settings and use of winter light.
The old adage of ' find a pretty picture and fill it with a train '.

Great series. I really like your sunset photo. Looking at it I can feel the cold weather.
