Earlier in the morning we spotted a string of BNSF grain cars and a lone BSNF unit facing west in the yard at Cumberland, MD. I assumed it was the G124 and the lead power must have needed service and was taken off the train. A check around the shops didn't turn up anything in the way of foreign road power.

Fast forward to the mid afternoon when we catch radio traffic from the "BB" dispatcher about a grain train coming down the hill... Hearing the grain train calling signals as the G124, I'll assume they had to double the train into Cumberland.

1) At the Valley Street Crossing, G124-07 arriving in Cumberland, MD with what we now know is the rear cut of cars for their train.

2) G124 eastbound between the west hump and Mexico Farms in Cumberland.

3) Headend stopped at their DP unit to make sure communicate is still established between the headend and DP.

1) Headend power cut away from the rear section that is still on the main (right) as they prepare to pull the 1st section and DP unit out of the yard.

2) At North Branch the power shoves the 1st, section back to double the train.The inbound crew assisted the outbound crew with doubling the train and knocking the brakes off the rear section.

3) All together and heading east.... DP power on G124-07.

What is the BB dispatcher?

Only reference to "BB" in that area is the Bud Board, and old Budweisser billboard that used to be on the outskirts of town.

Are these the grain trains that go to Strasburg Va ?

"BB " refers to one of the Dispatcher Desks for the Baltimore Division. "BB" covers the Cumberland Terminal and parts of other sub divisions in and around Cumberland, MD.

I'm not sure, but I beleive that to be correct.

On 12/20 I saw a BNSF grain train with two BNSF leaders in the Confluence, PA.area on the Keystone Sub. I did not catch the symbol. Probably a safe bet that this train was also a G124. Now I have a symbol for my records.

I must say the Bud billboard answer is much more colorful.
I do remember it.

The bb dispatcher controls from weverton to connellsville and also the shenendoah sub. I heard empties ready to come out on the shenendoah sub on thursday night. There was bnsf power running around brunswick last week
