Finally some sun and blue sky with temps around 18 degrees

1. The 23K had an issue with a bad car this morning and was stopped at Oneonta for a while, then told to move to Afton where the car would be set off and accessible to the mechanical department. So by now, a little later than usual 23K comes blowing through Wells Bridge, NY with the snow flying. Power was NS 6971, 6951 and 6964.

2. The going away shot in a swirl of cold blowing snow.

3. Approaching Afton at MP 585.

4. The going away shot as 23K slows for the set off at Afton.

5. After they made the set off (and we had a quick lunch from Henry's Diner, an excellent cheesebuger) they cross the Harpursville High Bridge charging up Belden Hill and then to Binghamton.

6. Later in the afternoon with the sun going low waiting at Otego for the 16R. The wind was gusting pretty good and standing out in it, it blew right through the body like a knife. The signal is lit and he's in the block.

7. The 16R approaches River Street Crossing in Otego with NS 1175 and 4256.

8. Numberboards on the 1175 lit so that you can see the bulbs behind.

9. The sun's golden glow illuminates the side of the mixed assortment of freight cars in a timeless scene of railroading.
