Long 174 Cars CSX K023/K683 - UP 7400!!

Here is a must see video I recorded + photos I took today of LONG 174 cars / 720 axles CSX westbound oil / ethanol combo K023 & K683 lead 2 BNSF Burlington Northern Santa Fe ES44C4's #8141 with a Nathan 5 chime K5HL train horn, #6971 trailing 2nd + 2 mid DPU distributed power unit UP Union Pacific ES44AC Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon ES44AC #7400 & UP AC4400CW #6275.

Thanks for sharing. Wouldn't longer trains be problematic in very cold weather?

Not so much with DPU'S. Better, faster brake pipe air. Easier to maintain air pressure the entire length of the train.

If it was a manifest train, that thing might leak air like crazy and run sloppy. All those tanks makes for a tight train, quicker air response and same braking equipment is always better. Still, they're a big pain in the ass!

Great catches. Did you look at the placards? Those tanks look like high pressure gas/LPG type cars? Very interesting power for sure.
