Well, with word going around that the 911, 1776, and 3194 were just making a run to keep on the 'active roster' as per the rules, they're presumed to be headed back into storage at Waycross upon arrival. So keeping that in mind, I was able to get out yesterday (2/20/21) after work and catch up with them on train Q409-18 at Petersburg, VA at Collier Yard. 

The first photo is as they depart the yard after working, with 1776 on point this time, and 3194 behind; 911 serving as DPU about 50 cars back at this point. 
A more broad roster shot of 3194. 
Third photo is from Stony Creek, as he takes an approach behind train H750 running ahead of him.

I had a couple shots around Emporia, but they were pretty bad, so I'll skip ahead to this one near the VA/NC state line, doing a bit of pacing on US 301. 
Next photo is from Weldon, NC as they cross the Roanoke River. 
Last photo is also Weldon, as I managed to get the drone up to about 33mph and hit a 1/8th second 'pace' shot with the drone. 

Hopefully these units will be seen sometime in the near future, but who knows with the way things are these days.

Very Nice.

Last shot at Weldon shows, what appears to be, a track at ground level beyond the elevated train.  Another rail line?

That is a really nice drone pacing shot. Haven't tried that but now I'll have too.

Also - I've always wondered; it isn't an issue that the side windows are covered with a wrap on 1776? I can't stand being stuck behind a wrap on a bus or train as a passenger, and if crew, I'd think that seeing out the side windows is a functional thing.

Can't understand why such great PR pices are kept in storage unless you want to use them only for a few special occasions. 
So you don't want them running more than necessary to keep them damage free & clean.

While not a RR employee I can speak to the graphics on windows. I sell fire apparatus & ambulaces we started using these type
of graphics back in 2007 as a way to add privacy on ambulance windows.

Can't tell you how many times back then we would see press & public photogs holding up their camera to shoot thru the windows
to try & "capture" the carnage or final moments of someones life. While tinting helps some flash photography, inside LED lighting
& even laws on how dark the tint could be made tinting fairly useless. 

So we went to our graphics group who worked with 3M & others on projects for the Big 3 auto companies. They came back to us
with this type of graphic while from a distance it looks solid, it's actually made out of thousands of tiny dots. From the inside it almost
looks as "see thru" as a normal piece of glass. While looking from outside it looks solid or in some cases you can make out the
dot print pattern. You can see a pic of a dive rescue unit I sold, since changing on scene is usually required privacy was a must. 
Since the department had a very tight budget purchasing a unit with changing frosted glass wasn't a option. Plus they fail at times.

I will look thru my stuff tomorrow to see if I can find a pic of looking thru the graphic applied glass. So you can see first hand how it 
looks. These graphics can be made in almost any design from a department logo, to flags to solid colors.

That’s the connector track used to reach the former SAL from Portsmouth to Norlina, NC. The section from just west of Weldon to Norlina was removed (as well as the parallel bridge over the Roanoke River), and a connection built to access it off the ACL was added for the few customers (and a powerplant) around Weldon.
