Who operates former IC Fulton-Haleyville?
Author: twropr

Several yrs ago the IC sold to NS the line between eithert Fulton, KY or Jackson, TN and Haleyville, AL.
I don't see it in recent NS timetables and am wondering if a short line now operates.  I'm surprised CN didn't reclaim it because Birmingham is a big market.

That line is abandoned south of Red Bay, AL. Not sure if the rails are pulled up or not. Mississppi Central operates from Corinth to Red Bay, AL which serves the large RV manufacturing business in Red Bay. They interchange with NS in Corinth. Not sure about the frequency of service.

Rails were lifted from just south of Red Bay to just north of Haleyville.

West Tennessee Railroad operates it between Fulton and Corinth. Home base is the former GM&O Iselin Yard in Jackson, TN.
