5/5/21 CN Train G 889 in Michigan
Author: ngfan

5/5/21 19:24 56 degrees at CN Charlotte, Michigan as KCS 4129 and BNSF 4218 power CN Train G889 past the old GTW depot and over the ChS junction switch. Conductor waves and horns makes it fun. 😁 This train of new empty cars is headed east to Durand and then South to be handed off to NS. Full 2:13 video.

It's always fascinating to see new rolling stock on its way to wherever their service is to begin.  It appears this fleet (out of the exactly 100 cars seen in the video), so far as this train shows, will have at least 300 cars:  in the video, I saw cars within the 490600, 490700 and 490800 series (I suspect there may be more, and we'll find that out in the months to come).  The design, two horizontal "ribs," is beyond what most of us have seen on the railroad network up until a few years ago when this type began appearing on the scene.  Then, the last car's AOKX marks appeared to be a paste-over, as there's a lighter brown background - maybe that one was hurried along to get it out with the others seen here.  Nice train, nice cars, nice video.  Please let us know when more of these AOKX empty grain trains depart their builder for service.

Man I certainly hate to say it but that is a lot of fresh canvas for those taggers out there. Hopefully they'll stay clean for awhile. Nice video and thanks for sharing!
