39G had the usual 70 steel slab gondolas, but the only manifest was four covered hoppers upp front.

I rather like that livery…they gonna have to make it the permanent new one!

Does 39G make pickups at Frankford Jct and Abrams? It rolled through CP Cromby about 6:30 PM with maybe 25 cars added ahead of the 4 covered hoppers and 70 slab gondolas and another 10-15 assorted cars on the hind end. The 4 locos still pulling from the front, no distributed power this evening.

Definitely Abrams.  Not sure about Frankford.

Speaking of Cromby, where is it located? I hear crews calling signals there every now and then on the Harrisburg East scanner feed, but have never ventured down to explore its location.

CP Cromby is about 200 yards west of the former hand crossover for the now closed Cromby generating station, approx. HARL MP20.1, location of the former eastbound bracket mounted approach signal to CP Phoenix.
When NS updated the signals for PTC on the Harrisburg Line they reconfigured interlockings to better accommodate train movements. Former CP Phoenix basically reduced the two main tracks to one track in both directions to pass through Black Rock Tunnel, with switches close to each tunnel portal. It was re-configured and made into two interlockings.
The east switch was moved east of the Rte 29 underpass (location of the former Phoenixville Station), it was just west of the underpass. This is now the new CP Phoenix.
The tracks west of the portal were changed as follows. The switch (former west switch of CP Phoenix) was moved off the Schuylkill River bridge and is now manual control with no CP designation. The former hand crossover for access to PECO's two track yard serving the former Cromby generating station was removed. About 200 yards west of that location a switch was installed to create a single main track (former westbound main) between there and the new  switch 9former CP Phoenix west switch), the former eastbound main now designated as a siding. A new high speed switch was installed to connect the two track mainline going west. This new single track main, the siding, the short single track main between the two switches and the two main tracks west are dispatcher controlled and signalled creating the new CP Cromby interlocking. All tracks east of CP Phoenix and west of CP Cromby are now bi-directionally signalled.
The local H86?, we used to call the "Beltliner" still comes east into CP Cromby to make the reverse back to Spring Street Yard, using whichever track is needed to serve customers. They used to call the dispatcher to open the hand crossover to make the reverse. The new CP Cromby really speeds up the procedure. Trains, can and usually do, pass through the new high-speed switch at track speed.
Curiously the new siding with it's low speed switch was immediately placed Out of Service on completion of the new interlocking, even though it is controlled by a three head signal in the westbound direction. Just recently a steel gang work train was stored on the siding for several days. Also what was reported as a Reading and Northern empty hopper train from Morrisville was backed into the siding and stored for a day or two. So it is seeing ocassional service of some sort.

I like it, too. I hoped NS might use it for the OCS units. Black and white up front, tiger teeth, then the executive red with gold trim.

Blends into the cars.

I thought H86 goes to the Chester secondary?

H86 had (?) which implies that it may not be correct.
Thanks for that info although the correct symbol would be appreciated.
