Some from the Shenandoah Valley
Author: mully

The NS line from Roanoke Va north through the Shenandoah Valley offers some great scenary even though train traffic can be light and you have to be patient.  These images were from earlier this year in different spots

Pic 1.......Northbound 202 is climbing the grade with the VGN heritage trailing

Pic 2.......Northbound at Waynesboro Va.

Pic 3......Northbound 16T at the double traack at Vesuvius Va.  He is climbing a stiff grade here

A few more images

Pic 4........11Z has just met the 16T and is now heading south on the double track

Pic 5.......A southbound is at Stuarts Draft with the old N&W signals still in place.  PTC has not been implemented on this line and I hear rumors both ways so time will tell.

Pic 6......A southbound is coming over a slight hill at Samson just north of Crimora Va.   Again I did this zoom shot to get the signal behind the engine as well as the units running elephant style and the stripes in line.
