Lewiston Junction Switcher on the StL&A
Author: RailRyder

On Friday, August 30 I caught the local at Lewiston Junction and Danville, Maine going about his daily chores. StL&A GP40-M3 #3008 was the power, orginally B&OI #4002.

Great photo of a Leslie S5T horn. Those are getting harder to find these days and can be hard to maintain the proper sound with.

You caught one of their two former Southern GP40X units (StL&A 3805 or 3806) in your first posted photo.

Dick, 393 runs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights out of Danville Jct, generally on duty at 1800 or so, meeting 394 at Berlin, where the crews swap trains.  This last Friday they surprised a ot of folks by going to work maybe as early as 1630, making to Gorham before 2000.    Dave Kruschwitz
