Former Iowa Pacific Cars Get Face Lift at RBMN
Author: Pirate

I removed the post due to a bunch of whiners trying to find the negative in a good news rail story.  Some of you deserve to be in the dark. In the future you can just guess.  Some of you would complain no matter what someone posted. Thanks for spoiling the fun for everyone  you  KARENS  , ARMCHAIR QUARTERBACKS  and WHINERS !  If you want to see it now.....you can pay for a ticket.

That's a very impressive operation.   They look to have a great team of people there who take pride in their work.

Thanks for sharing the good news that these cars have found a great home and will be put to good service.

Believe the car is former San Luis & Rio Grande 3378 named CALUMET CLUB built by Pullman in 1918 as Illinois Central 2211 88-seat coach.  Car was rebuilt by IC in 1952 as a streamlined flat-end parlour observation lounge car.  Believe it will become Reading & Northern (had Reading Blue Mountain & Northern reporting marks RBMN) car #6.

Wow! The only time a Class 1 moves that fast is if a derailment is blocking the main!

The regional short line operator Carload Express and the RBN often present extremely clean locomotives. It looks like that tradition will be extended to the expanded passenger car fleet.

The crew may be making lots of progress, but I question the significant lack of work place safety procedures in place?

Just like a class 1 rairoad!   Either get all the work done and move on or take chance and go with the short cut.  I myself always chose the short cut if possible.

What?  Really?

The RBMN is the last real railroad as we used to know them.  SD40's, GP30's, end cab switchers, Budd cars, a working turntable, passenger service with a smile, etc., etc.

I don't think you're being picky or a Karen. I wondered why almost no one was wearing any type of mask while scraping or applying paint. Thought someone might be wearing coveralls or other "work clothing" while doing the work.

I dunno. People who are working with power sanders, sprayers, etc should be issued protective equipment.

People who are working on ladders or unsecured elevated areas should have protection.

OSHA rules apply to volunteers as well as paid employers. While volunteers don't have Workers Comp, they do have lawyers...

I guess someone needs to look at the picture again.  I dont see anyone holding a sander or a sprayer, let alone using it.  And the guy on the ladder...there is someone holding the ladder at the base.   What do u want, a net below an 8 foot ladder?

I guess we need to follow homedepots lead where it takes 3 people with flags and closing off the aisle to get a can of paint off the top shelf

I see an open, unsecured, elevated, door way and a worker adjacent to it.
