Eastern Railroad Discussion > Lancaster and Chester 10-19-21Date: 10/21/21 20:41 Lancaster and Chester 10-19-21 Author: regmacSC On 10-19-21, I went up to catch the Lancaster and Chester RR as this may be one of the last times I see them for a while as I'm about to move to the Atlanta area, On that day, I caught trains 12,14, and 16. Since being bought by the Gulf and Ohio, the L&C units are arriving or being painted black, but there are a few left in the Springmaid Blue.
First shot is of Train 12 being led by SD40-2 7092 leading a former CSX SD60M. 2nd shot is of Train 16 with a pair of former NS (Southern) units. A MP15DC leading a high hood GP38AC 3rd shot is of the first set of 6 axle units on the RR. Shot #4 is Train 14 passing the Elgin Fire Department with a pair of ex CN GP40-2LWs. #5 is Train 14 coming out of the tree tunnel approaching Pleasant Hill, SC. #6 They're approaching the end of their journey as they pass the depot in Heath Springs, SC    Date: 10/21/21 20:46 Re: Lancaster and Chester 10-19-21 Author: regmacSC The final shot is of train 14 coming to the end of their journey as they stop at the north end of the ADM plant in Kershaw, SC.
