What a nice little convenient area to stage everything. Normally there are at least some very badly damaged cars? All shown look to be in pretty good condition. NS was very fortunate.

They look like models after some children stopped playing with them.

Almost expecting to see shots of the big hand picking them up on putting them back on the track (not that MY model railroad would pileup like that).

There's been a house track at Hiram since the 1970s, at least. Some time in the 1950s the main line was straightened. The original main line came in about at the Hiram street crossing.

I was thinking more of shots of someone's incomplete model railroad progress.

A good time to put a little light lub on worm gears and clean track pickup connections on 8133. Must be a Kato, easy to get the trucks off without taking the shell off.

Were the switch panels already there for a project?

Any scuttlebutt about the cause?

yes , the switch cars were already there ,  as the track was torn from the end of the cars to where the switch was located .

Certainly hope the state department of environmental quality or the E.P.A. comes down to do testing on that site for ground contamination.

The modeler did a great job on all the grafitti on the box cars.

I didn't realize that was the most important consideration......

Shaking my head.

This might have contaminated all the water in Georgia but don't worry the EPA will check it out. We couldn't survive without the government.

Great pictures. I have a question: what is allowed for arial/drone photography in a situation like this? Does one need permission from the landowner to fly over and photograph? Is there a minimum altitude above which it is considered public? Is there a minimum distancce that needs to be maintained from operating equipment? Guess it was several questions.
Thanks,
PR
