Date: 01/20/22 16:00 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: czephyr17 Yes, that does seem pretty good, though by my calculations it was 77 hours 28 minutes from train departure Los Angeles to train arrival at N Baltimore.
Thanks for sharing this info! Posted from iPhone Date: 01/20/22 16:18 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: callum_out Interesting numbers, it didn't take the train 2 hours to run from Hobart to Pico Rivera,
I wouldn't think. Out Date: 01/20/22 17:02 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: ns cp-182 Excuse my fat fingers, i ment hurray to easy on the eyes CEO BNSF ass kickin Texas Katey

The 80 hour figure would be the "clock time" - not adjusted for the time zone change. Date: 01/21/22 07:07 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: Greyhounds arelpy Wrote:

I'm so ashamed. I forgot to adjust for the time zones. But that is moving it. Date: 01/22/22 10:04 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: DivergingClear I'm trying to convert this to an average speed, but missing a piece of information... where would this train most likely have been handed off to CSX, or alternately, would there have been a rubber-tire component to this journey out of Willow Springs?

Direct interchange between BNSF and CSX through the connection at Brighton Park. Date: 01/23/22 17:46 Re: Fedex delivery via Rail Author: DivergingClear Typhoon Wrote:

With that, I've calculated 2315 miles total along the BNSF Southern Transcon from L.A. to the CSX interchange at Ash St, then along the B&OCT and former B&O to North Baltimore on CSX. I fully admit I may have made a mistake - but the number seems "close", regardless. This would result in an average speed of 29.9 MPH for this trip. Edited 1 time(s).
