Eastern Railroad Discussion > Meeting on the MACDate: 05/09/22 18:26 Meeting on the MAC Author: sugarcreek56 Our charter train left St. Louis Union Station and headed east across the TRRA MacArthur Bridge. While on the bridge, an eastbound Union Pacific coal train caught up to us and we ran side by side for a short distance until crossing onto the Illinois side of the bridge.

Regards, Jim Evans Date: 05/10/22 10:14 Re: Meeting on the MAC Author: MEKoch Coal train came straight off the bridge to Valley Junction or A&S yard or some destination in East St. Louis. The passenger train turned north off the bridge and came down to Relay Tower and then likely north on the usual Amtrak route to Alton.

Date: 05/10/22 16:53 Re: Meeting on the MAC Author: sugarcreek56 The passenger cars are owned by Union Station; Union Station hires Terminal Railroad Association to operate the trains. The train did operate to Relay Junction, but from there it traveled on the Eads Subdivision to CP Junction (south end of TRRA Madison Yard) to SH Tower (north end of TRRA Madison Yard) before crossing the Merchants Bridge and going south past the Arch on the Merchants Subdivision. The train is wyed at Poplar Street and then backs into Union Station.
