Pizza Junction fire (Huntington IN)
Author: atsf616

The iconic Pizza Junction in Huntington, the former WAB freight station located immediately adjacent to the NS Wabash District main, was extensively damaged in a fire Friday afternoon.  The restaurant was open for business at the time, and everyone was evacuated without major injury.

Sad - I saw this recently on Google "Streetview" and was pleased to see
that it's still in use, or was, until yesterday. Meanwhile, just across the street,
the WABASH passenger station still stands and looks like a restaurant, maybe?

Forgot to mention, Pizza Junction was the Wabash Freight station.

Yes, that's the place. Well, the back of it.

Yes, that is the freight station and the brick building across the tracks, further west, is the station.

It’s been a couple years since we’ve been there, but Buffalo chicken pizza was one of the best I’ve had.
Hope they can rebuild and reopen.

Pizza Junction announced the cause of the fire was a 3 gallon pot of dirt that spontaneously combusted on the back patio. Security camera footage confirmation that no one was around the area.
