Night trains NS 204 and 212 in daylight at Shenandoah Junction.
Author: ddavies

NS 227 or 228 hit a tree Friday night on the single track north of Lynchburg.  The line wasn't cleared until 3 AM, making all kinds of trains late.  19, 171, 203, 204 and 212.

"Midnight" train 212 and 204 came past the junction in late morning.

212 is 9886, while 204 is 4147.

Was 228 at Angelo, VA.  From the radio conversations on Broadcastify, I am not sure if 228 actually hit the tree, or if after 228 stopped a tree fell on top of two cars in the train..
Amtrak 171 took a 4'42" delay and 19 3'10" delay.
If my understanding is correct 228 is an Enola-Norfolk train that was operating southward on the former Southern, and both 204 and 212 originate at Atlanta (Inman) and go to Rutherford and Croxton.
If 228 oriiginates at Enola, it would be carrying manifest freight - why would it have an intermodal symbol?

228 still carries the ocean containers bound for Norfolk/ports...
