Derail protecting on the Freight Track at "West Keyser" near the site of the former "Z" Tower.

In the background, Q317 starts a 44 car tonnage reduction set out.

Is that a rail lapping derail to go on the head of the rail?  They don't work, just ask the last logging RR in North America that had a number of employees killed account of loaded log cars rolled over their derail. Only split Point derails work.  It even killed the entire logging railroad that never ran again. That sign is only good if you know what way you look at it.  Just look at the lapping derails.

As to flop over derails....they will work if they are installed properly....every one I've seen that cars jumped over, it turned out the were put on backward!

Colloquially known as a Hayes derail, but there were other manufacturers too. If I remember correctly, the technical name is wedge derail.
