Going to Work the Park" ..... A common phrase heard when the local out of Keyser, WV has to switch the Sealed Air plant in the Keyser Industrial Park. Sealed Air is a plastic Bag manufacturer that receives covered hopper loads for plastic pellets. The Keyser Local L158 typically switches the plant once a week. Typical week is 3-4 loads swapped with a like number of empties.

1) This week they had 6 cars to swap out. Conductor rides the shove down to the switch at the facility.

2) While waiting for the plant personnel to unhook the cars, M317-19 (left) comes westbound passing the L158-20

3) L158 with the empties to be set over on the stub track so they can spot the loads. Back at Keyser, the local will run around the cars and shove them onto the Freight Track for M316 to pick up later.

With some cities outlawing plastic bags there eventually may be less work "at the park".

So does that mean the paper plant at Luke will come back on line to provide paper for bags?

The paper mill is gone... both paper machines were removed and sold to Turkey. The "remains" of the plant were sold to a "Liguidation Firm" ..... and there has been one auction of assets already.
