Eastern Railroad Discussion > Aberdeen Carolina & Western?Date: 08/01/22 14:50 Aberdeen Carolina & Western? Author: RRBMail I may be in Charlotte, NC, this Fall. I'd like to shoot some action/roster of the AC&W purple rolling stock and diesels. Are they railfan friendly? Do they ever run public excursions? Is their Aberdeen terminal near the Aberdeen & Rockfish RR? Thanks in advance!

Suggest you go to their website ( www.acwr.com) and send them a message with your request to visit their shop in Candor, NC and whatever else you'd like to do.

Author: RayH The engine facility for the Aberdeen & Rockfish is fenced, but you might get lucky and find them switching a car from the CSX interchange. You might find power at Raeford, and definitely working around Fayetteville (M-F).
You should also contact TO member scraphauler, as he lives on the AC&W and can probably give you the best insight for operations (they are dependent on grain trains to/from CSX at Aberdeen). They are usually working somewhere between Star, Oakboro, Aberdeen, and Charlotte every week day. Posted from iPhone |
