Out looking for CP 7022 in Cedar Point Land
Author: bath_wildcat

The wife and I decided to spend the day at Cedar Point Shores as the guy says from The Turdy Point Buck song this-"And you know it's not so much the heat as it is the gosh darn humidity" which was very true today.

Anyway went looking through the hot sheets (the faceplant groups, some are pretty reliable) and found a heads up 67X had the CP 7022 as a mid train DPU.  Well I was out at my usual Sandusky haunt, but as I got there ended up with a short slop freight first.  Power was NS, UP, UP NS 5191 high nose.  Later found out from train1275 that it was 15N. Thank you sir.

About an hour after that slop went by it was go time for the 67X (with thanks to Gavin Friess along the line tracking 67X).  Power up front was NS 4475, NS 4122, and CP 8604.

As 67X was going by (the first half) the DPUs showed up. The lead DPU CP 9780 was smoking pretty badly but thankfully didnt do much to block CP 7022.  CP 7022 marks the third Military unit I have seen (the other two being the Army green and recently the CP 6644 My Favorite)

While this is the Navy tribute, I always said upon something new being released someday those will make it oer to my nexk of the woods and it hasnt failed yet.

After 67X went by (literally within minutes) a bonus came in the form of 16G on the Chicgao Line. I had thought this one and 17N were routed to work Bellevue, however this is a treat as I havent seen 16G in a good bit as of late.

Power for 16G is NS Class unit ES44DC 7500, NS 4227, and NS 3612

16G had some great and interesting cars. Quite a few pipe loads, some tractors and a couple of others. Ill close out this post with oblititory Conrail coil Shield car.

That wraps up my short time trackside but made the most of it, thanks to the red headed demon of a closet steam railfan wife I have married.

"Power was NS, UP, UP NS 5191 high nose.  IF anyone can trace that one, please do. Im guessing it was 309, but ill need confirmation. Sadly no pics of that first slop freight. "

That was Train 15N.
