I was out today just chilling along the tracks and the Vermilion River and grabbed a few shots other than the SD40E / SD60E posting I made a while earlier.

Today we see some trains and take a look at some of the "cargo" behind them. It is not too hard to figure out what trains are what symbols for the most part, well the regulars at least, but I hear later this month that might change. Many trains will be assigned new symbols. I suspect that will get the freight to the customer faster and maybe even lower the operating ratio. So if true, I guess I will have to re-learn everything. 

1. First up is the 20R with NS 1016 and 4444. 20R handles mostly international containers and is a colorful train.

2. Hapag-Lloyd, and Nile Dutch boxes.

3. Hapag-Lloyd refer, UASC, MOL and Evergreen.

4. More containers from the colorful 20R. ZIM "Z" Factor and UASC.

5. Beacon and Seaco boxes fill out our look at 20R.

6. Next we watch the 26E, first of the Three Horsemen with NS 4447, 4586 and 7565.

7. The 2nd unit on the 26E is NS 4586 a newly rebuilt unit out of Fort Worth in May 2022. It was built as NS 9372 in May 1999 as a DASH 9 -44CW and now a AC44C6M. Still nice and shiny.

9. Train 20E, the 2nd of the Three Horsemen with NS 1011 and 4200.

10. 20E usually has a high proportion of TOFC (Trailers in any event) and here we see a couple of Walmart trailers. 

11. Now 24M, the third of the Three Horsemen with NS 7546 and 7713.

12. 24M is usually rather short, and will have a high percentage of UPS trailers.

13. Over on the Nickel Plate side at the Vermilion Docks, the 316 can sometimes be expected in mid-afternoon out of Bellevue for Conneaut. Today he was in that slot with NS 9601 and 9735. The 316 is a general merchndise train.

14. As soon as his tail end cleared the 21Z came blasting westbound on the Chicago Line with NS 9750 and 4370. Up front is an APL Logistics container.

15. The 21Z is also a diverse train with a high percentage of trailers, including ABF, Yellow and Prime.

16. To close out the post we get a final look at some of the manifest on the 21Z. FedEx, Prime, R+L, and Yellow.
