Another L15 Double-Stack with SD40E leader - Lake Erie Land

Vermilion, OH

Very hot out there in the sun today, it really felt intense.

A long wait watching what appeared to be a real clusterfluck PSR operation, but after about 4 hours finally scored the L15 with the SD40E leading. This time I shot it from the Vermilion Rail Park at track level instead of the docks looking up at it.  He still had the SD60E NS 6996 trailing.

Lots of other action I'll post later, but this was my prize of the day. I really like that "retro" look.

And a question; so what did the NS do to make these SD40E's ?  Anyone got a good detailed workscope ?

Thanks for the website info on the SD40E scope.

Anyone have info on conversion of the 645F to 645E3C Tier Zero +? Did they use the F block and E3C assemblies / turbo / governor  or did they do an actual block swap out ?
I'd be interested in knowing.
