Hanging out at the Vermilion Rail Park trying to keep cool. The main goal today was to get the L15 westbound hauling the double-stacks with the SD40E leader. That was successful and posted earlier. Now for the rest of the day. It has been very busy yesterday and today, more so than in many weeks, or at least while I have been trackside. Plenty of trains and some of them have been really, really long ones.

1. UP 7779, NS 7645 and UP 7219 power the 310 east.

2. NS 7625 and 8167 go west on the W5N.

3. On the head end of the W5N were all of these pipe cars.

4. Train 32N rounds the curve and approaches town with NS 1002 and 9786. This is a Madison, IL to Conway, PA train.

5. NS 8085 is the DPU on 32N.

6. Now we get a westbound, Train 21Q with NS 8030, 1116 and 4153 on the business end.

7. A little closer look at the 21Q.

8. 20W rolls in with a ruddy looking NS 7717 leading BNSF 5211 and 9090 an SD70ACe. This train was about all UPS and FedEx boxes and for some reason they wanted him to go into Fairlane Yard just east of here. That is when things got really bolloxed up due to a power switch issue. From here on out the railroad got really constipated.

9. We went home for a while after this, and then came back when it looked like things would start moving again. So I think this was 10Q out of Bellevue. He was a long one and was right on us as we pulled back trackside.

10. 13Q comes west with NS 4378 and CP 7054 up front adding some color. This guy too was wicked long in length, or so it seemed.

11. I couldn't resist a splash of color, 2nd unit on 13Q, CP 7054.

12. And the DPU was a CP unit also, CP 8120.

One last grab for the day down at the docks of 69N with NS 4529 and 4397.

Whew !!  Time to go home to supper and a little air conditioning.
