Has the actual railroad property been sold? I realize that they stopped operations when the paper mill at Luke closed down, but I was wondering if they are still together as a company and do they own the railroad property? Alco T-6 #101 remains at the secured Luke paper mill, behind the former administration building. GCK track is weedgrown but serviceable from the shop area to the CSX interchange in Westernport. North of the shop area it disappears into jungle-like growth all the way up the valley. It is very quiet in Luke nowadays. #101 photos courtesy of C.T. WM 39 was former Knox & Kane 14 x Chessie 6414 , It was burned in the K&K Engine house fire in Kane, So thought it would get a 2nd lease on life but looks like it will either rust away or get Scrapped. Very Sad 😕 Posted from Android |
