We did not get the snow they got east of here in Buffalo and Upstate New York, but it was breezy, overcast and spitted a few flurries.
Train action has been slow every time I am out, so this series is over three days.

Thursday November 17, 2022

1. A catch of the 10N at Vermilion, OH with NS 7649 leading a very short loaded autos train heading for Fairlane Yard just ahead.

2. Train 259 bound for Voltz, MO with NS 8118 and 1116.

Friday November 18, 2022

3. It is pretty much solitude on the NKP east of Vermilion to Cleveland, Train 315 seen here is about all there is anymore. He is stopped at Helen Drive just east of Vermilion, probably for a crew change due to hours of service. BNSF 6557 and 7658 are the power as we look east towards the former Ford Lorain plant where the rear of the train stretches back towards. I thought later in the evening that a local went by here, but not sure.

4. Over on the Chicago Line is Train 28M with NS 4283 and 4409 making tracks eastbound at Vermilion Road crossing.

5. And here is the 28V over the Vermilion River bridge with NS 4144 and 9823.

6. Coal Train 740 with loaded Duke Power hoppers is westbound with NS 4575 and 4348, NS 4569 was a rear DPU.

7. Next up on the 18th is Train 13N with NS 4570 and 9944. I have no idea what a 13N is ...... I'm just losing track.

Saturday November 19, 2022 (Today)

8. & 9.  Down to the CSX (Big Four) and a catch of Train M363 with a nice orange nosed CN 8816 leading CSX 3260. This train is a great example of the fact there was a big snow storm about 250 miles east of here. Wellington, OH

10. Wheeling & Lake Erie at Hartland, OH. This train with WLE 7001 leading just pulled into the yard from the east.

11. & 12. A black number board NS 8166 leads BNSF 5895 and 7038 west  on a general freight at Risden Road just west of Vermilion on the Chicago Line. I did not catch the symbol on this train.

Q: have the 264/265 Chicago-Ayer IM trains and the 28B/29P Chicago-Buffalo priority IM trains stopped regular use of the NKP between Vermilion and Cleveland?

Correct, those intermodals are now exclusively on the Chicago Line.
