Eastern Railroad Discussion > A Day on the W&A with CSXT 911

Got messages from multiple friends about the Spirit of First Responders, CSXT 911, leading M203 down the W&A so decided to make a drive up I-75 out of Atlanta to intercept it.  Stopped in Acworth as I got word that they were already south of Cartersville, and didn't want to chance missing them.

Shot 1 is of M203 coming through the town of Acworth under the pedestrian overpass.
Shot 2 Decided to give chase to make my way back home, and intercepted M203 entering the Atlanta Terminal Sub at Elizabeth.
Shot 3 Trains were being held out of town as the tracks around the old Tilford area were full of trains.  M203 pulls up to the approach signals at the OWA 16 to wait for M582.

Shots 4 and 5 are a couple of shots from Vinings as I ended my chase here to head home.
Shot 6  Now I know I chased M203 down to Vinings/Atlanta.  But the train that ran ahead of them was an interesting one as well.  CSX B637-11 for Lawrenceville, GA, was running 10 mins ahead of
             M203 with a CN SD70M-2 leading.  Shot at Acworth.

Beautiful shots and great catch!

Why would Acworth build a pedestrian overpass, when the street is right there??    Or does CSX block this crossing repeatedly for long periods?

Don't quote me on this, but this was probably a requirement of the town since their is no horn blowing by trains through town.
