Sharing a photo from Tuesday Jan 17th 2023 of two of Watco's new motive power aquistions.  These ex NS ex PRLX EMD GP59's had been stored in the backwoods of Georgia prior to moving to Metro East Industries in East St Louis, IL. WAMX GP59 # 5900 and # 5901 wear the attractive Wisconsin & Southern paint scheme. WATCO purchased 10 ex NS GP59's in total and I am unsure if any others will be painted for WSOR or jiust the standard WAMX black and yellow. East St Louis, IL Jan 17th 2023.

Thanks Mark and Stuart for the NS numbers. Always enjoy looking back at my files to see whether or not I got them in NS paint. Apparently I never shot the 4612 but did manage the 4621 leading NS 70J at Oakland City In. back on September 27, 2006.

Anyone have recent roof shots of these units.  Trying to get some detail shots of the new units for WSOR so that I can model them!

There are now at least two shortlines with GP59's in classy paint schemes. Here are Carload Express's pair on the Allegheny Valley RR back in September.

Here are the two very shiny WSOR GP59Es moving in a TRRA transfer run to BNSF (?) as captured off the west facing St Louis live cam. I guess BNSF will move them the units WSOR.
