A CWR Train in Lake Erie Land

Sunday March 12, 2023

A dust of snow and some nice crisp air makes for an invigorating morning in Vermilion, OH.

1. A 6K4, loaded ethanol comes east at Coen Road west of town with NS 3603, BNSF 6712 and UP 5562.

2. Train 260, intermodal east rolls over the Vermilion River bridge from track level and approaches Vermilion Road with NS 1027 (Trains Magazine) and UP 8974.

3. Behind him was the 28B with UP 7104 and 5782, intermodal for Buffalo, NY.

4. & 5.  An extra on the NKP today, Train 918 Welded Rail, comes east out of Bellevue for Conneaut with NS 7579 providing the horsepower. The brick building in the background was the Wakefield Brass Works, makers of lighting fixtures. The train is seen here from the Vermilion Road overpass crossing the Vermilion River bridge with Signal 220-7 visible in the background.

6. The 918, with the ribbons of rail in tow, ducks under the NS Chicago Line (ex NYC RR Water Level Route).

I wonder if it came from the company near Columbia City, Indiana.
