NS continues to stage material and prep for rehab of the ex-D&H Albany Main between Delanson NY and Voorheesville NY CSX connection to facilitate the new routing to/from Ayer of intermodal and autos across the CSX Boston & Albany line and ex-PAR Worcester Main (this traffic will be taken off the ex-B&M PAS route).

And as of 3/13/23, NS has conductor and engineer job postings for the Voorheesville - Ayer trackage rights operation. Here's the engineer position posting:

This must be a line that has no employees hired for it, Because the union seniority structure of NS wont allow for the new hire of a engineer to jump the engineer seniority of a conductor who was on property before they got hired. There for qualified engineers restart back to conductor. 

Correct. NS has no employees currently operating over CSX Boston line or Worcester Main via trackage rights. This is a route change for IM/autos from Pan Am Southern route (operated by Springfield Terminal employees) to CSX as a condition of CSX acquiring Pan Am Railways. Allows NS to avoid Hoosac Tunnel permitting double stacking of containers on its Chicago-Ayer service lane.

Kind of surprising that they’re looking for experience people from the outside. Now they have to untraine them of doing things somebody else’s way.

Definitely must be willing to spend alot time away from home. To be able to stay at the Nashoba Valley Inn in Ayer, ma for 3-4 nights a week for the rest of your NS career will be a big selling point.
