Warbonnet Brings Everyone Out in Georgia
Author: regmacSC

The news of BNSF 742 leading NS 54V for Valdosta, GA, brought out the crowd in Georgia chasing this one down from Chattanooga, towards Valdosta.  Captured them in 4 locations within the Atlanta area.

1st time catching them was in Austell. When the cars started gathering, I knew they were close.
2nd shot is at Mableton coming around the high speed curve there.
3rd shot is the curve at Jacmac right before entering Inman Yard.

Contemplated going farther south, but decided just to shoot them 1 last time after their crew change at a location called Wells.  This is on the Atlanta South as they were now heading to the next crew change point at Macon.

Excellent catch and shots. I would have been there right with you had I lived in the area.

I don't. Didn't get a chance to shoot the crowd at Mableton

Picture #2 is my favorite with the signals. Looks like some blooming is starting in this picture. I see some purple.

Wisteria. Not native to the southeastern U.S. and considered by some an undesirable, invasive species.

My wife noticed ours started blooming a few days ago here in Nor Cal.

Thank you posting. And 3 dash 9's to boot. Not sure which ones are more rare currently, the NS dash 9's that are left or the warbonnet.

NS has around 370 Dash 9s currently in service (give or take). They have more in storage (most likely awaiting rebuilt).

Great shots!!
