Date: 03/28/23 19:21 Re: NS Reading Heritage Unit Author: Gonut1 Nice, Very nice. I was always disappointed that NS selected to have an EMD unit wear the Beeline Service logo. Reading was such an Alco road but like many others they bought what was available during the scramble to dieselize in the late Forties and Early Fifties. It is interesting to see it didn't come out of the paint shop in a black-dip paint job. Thank you NS.

Well, there is at least a history of RDG EMDs with the "Bee Line Service" logo (SD45s), and if you squint real hard at the SD70's radiator section you can see the family resemblance! ;-) Date: 03/28/23 20:02 Re: NS Reading Heritage Unit Author: icancmp193 That's much better! It was getting kind of ratty.

JG Date: 03/29/23 02:26 Re: NS Reading Heritage Unit Author: Milw_E70 I’m sure their new COO being a genuine fan and a modeler has something to do with it…

Considering the locomotive market share at the time most of the represented roads existed, you could probably make an argument against ANY GE locomotives. Hopefully, they do the same to the 1071 (Central of New Jersey) & 1074 (Lackawanna) while they’re at JBS also.

Date: 03/30/23 08:01 Re: NS Reading Heritage Unit Author: Pacific5th In true NS fasion I'm sure they did nothing inside the cab. I have upset more then a few when I have bad ordered two of the heritage units in the PNW and removed them from the lead for bad cab issues.

Date: 03/31/23 11:13 Re: NS Reading Heritage Unit Author: ns7500 8099 is one of the 3 that's scheduled for repaint and I would assume 1071 or 1074 is the other heritage unit be repainted
