A nice day in Vermilion Ohio; hazy air, maybe from the wild fires in Western Canada ? 1. MofW was out with the Mark IV tamper and regulator working fresh stone on Track 2. Looks like they were enhancing the shoulders among other work. Here the 23G with NS 8138, 8142 and 8030 pass the work zone just east of Main Street crossing at the Vermilion Rail Park. The gang went west from here. 2. Then a very short 27P came west with NS 8097 and 4523. 3. Next by was the 22X with NS 8064, 1209 and 4033. 5. It is a busy time, now we see the 28M roll east with NS 7653 and 4481. 6. A look at the 2nd unit on the 28M. The first one is a 1916 or later and the 2nd one is a 1913 with the nice brass radiator and trimmings.
8. A closer look at the 1913 Model T Ford with the driver diligently looking to make sure all is clear and no trains are coming. 9. The nice prize of the day was Train 310 with BNSF 6346 and a visitor from Mexico, the FXE 4645. BNSF 3942 brings up the markers on the 310 as the rear DPU ending a nice day trackside with the company of several other fans today, including MdRailfan out here from Maryland.
