NS's Pittsburgh Line
Author: bobwilcox

I enjoyed a good weekend along the NS's Pittsburg, PA, earlier this month.
  1. NS 5636(EMD/NS GP38-2) hustles an eastbound local through Mt. Union, PA.
  2. NS 3653(GE ET44AC) leads a westbound mixed manifest around the curve on the east side of Lewistown, PA.
  3. The westbound Pennsylvanian on May 13 is led by a beat-up AMKT 118(GE D42DC),
  4.

I really photo #1 taken at Mt. Union.....it is a nice, moody image!  Is the open area in front of you where the interchange with the EBT used to be?

The EBT "interchange" was about a mile behind me on the left.  Cars of merchandise would come in on the Pennsy, lifted, and have their standard gauge trucks replaced with narrow gauge trucks.
