PN 5577 Souderton Today
Author: RDG630

Recently painted former CP SD40-2 #5577 brought tank cars for storage on the former Reading Company Bethlehem Branch at Souderton, Pa today. The borough received a grant to fix up the passenger and freight stations at Souderton.

OK, so who actually owns the line today - Pennsylvania Northeastern?
Do they still interchange with CSX at Lansdale? So much has changed.
Thanks for the photos - glad to see the Souderton stations being preserved.

The ROW to Quakertown is SEPTA's through ownership of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. To maintain that ownership SEPTA sends a Hi-rail north once a year to "qualify"  a crew.
Interchange is provided by CSX from their Woodbourne Yard to Lansdale.
The Pennsylvania government website has a very detailed map "PARAIL_2022" map available for download as a .pdf including the current 2022 ownerships. The easiest way to locate is searchusing the term map pennsylvania parail_2022

Thanks for the reply, Gonut1. Good information.
Interesting that SEPTA still owns it but last used it
in 1981 when they discontinued the Bethlehem trains!
