“Abrams Man and the New-New Bethlehem Star” or “SD60E Night
Author: dschlegel

Thanks to timely heads ups from globalethanol (thank you Tom!) I was able to time my dog walk this evening with Dixie the rescue beagle to catch an "Abrams Man" H44 hustling west through Topton, PA and a "New-New Bethlehem Star" NS 200 cooking right along. Both trains were pulled by SD60E's and sounded fantastic!

First up H44 with the 6981 and 6992.

More to follow......

Next we see Dixie waiting patiently (it was 17 minutes between trains, we walked around a bit but came back to the same spot) for the New-New Bethlehem Star (The Reading had a hot Harrisburg-Bethlehem turn called the Bethlehem Star, then I dubbed the 20V-21V NS turn a few years back the New Bethlehem Star, they went away for a while and now 200 does the same turn thus New-New Bethlehem Star).

Finally NS 200 flies west behind 7016, 7028, and 7023.

Enjoy the sweet EMD music and have a great week!

Beautiful dog, nice trains and some cool consists! I remember the 20-21V from when I lived out there, good to see the "turn" coming back...

Thanks for posting the great videos.  The SD60E's had a good roll on both trains.

You got 'em. The westbound 200 should be twice as long by the end of the week. They only had 1 river yard track last night.

I had a beagle for 14 years and loved that little guy. He was my buddy. And those SD60E's ain't bad either.

Nice posting. Interesting horn sound variation. First train had a new cast P5 screaming away while 2nd had conventional K5 horn.

Nice posting!
Interesting variation in horns. First train was powered by unit with new cast Nathan P5 while second train's leader had more conventional
K5.
