KCS 70mac brightens up a former B&O route
Author: EL833

On 06-02-2023 a good looking Kansas City Southern (or is it CPKC...) SD70mac caught the lead of CSX empty sand train B457, shown here passing through Akron, Ohio. There was a time when KCS was very rare along this former B&O route (which was joint with PRR/PC/CR for years), but in today's "everything gets everywhere" world KCS power has been passing through town a bit more....with no complaints from me !

I'm on a sort of outer fringe of the NS network but see unusual locos once in a while but I don't recall ever catching a KCS. If I don't see one soon I'll only maybe catch a CPKC paint job whatever that will be.
I doubt i'll lose any sleep over it. to date I have only seen one NS heritage in PRR paint, at night, way back during the first year they were released. My kids are both over 30 now and its been a long, long time since we have gone railfanning to photo or video trains.
