Another nice Fall day here in Lake Erie Land
​President Theodore Roosevelt was born on this date in 1858.

1. Train 309 from East Binghamton roars westward like rolling thunder with a rare CP leader. The CP 8138 apparently came out of Ayer, MA on an extra 11R (M1R) and down the D&H into East Binghamton, NY. It  was then dispatched on 309 for Elkhart, IN with NS 3631 as a mid-train DPU. We found ourselves on the dark side here with no time to get over to the perfectly lit side, but this was too good to pass up as we catch him at CP 224, Risden Road west of Vermilion.

2. Next up is the 38N storming out of Bellevue into Shinrock on the NKP with NS 4391 and 4323.

3. Then behind him was intermodal train 258 out of Voltz Yard in Kansas City, MO with NS 8148 and 7632 coming past the harvested soy bean fields at Barnes Road west of GC, Vermilion where he'll cross over to the Lake Shore line to head towards Conway and Rutherford, PA. It was a tough day trying to work with the available trains and the position of the sun.

In between the thunder on the rails we took a peaceful sojourn though the Sheldon Marsh in Huron.
