Eastern Railroad Discussion > Frosty and Fries with Long Hood ForwardDate: 10/28/24 12:16 Frosty and Fries with Long Hood Forward Author: scraphauler Empty grain train rolls down the ACWR thru my backyard in Pinehurst NC at 11 AM Monday 10/28/24, on it's way back to CSXT in Aberdeen. Freshly painted CSXT 7416 has the honors, long hood forward, with CSXT 51 sporting it's weathered original paint in trail. Further back we find a CSXT covered hopper sporting Wendy's logo and the phrase "Frosty and Fries". There seems to be a number of CSXT covered hoppers floating around with this graffiti - this was just the first one I was able to snap a pic of. It appears that Wendy is a decal. Seems like someone got ahold of some old Wendy's marketing material or has gone through the trouble of printing these up.
Oooooorrrrrrr, this was a load of corn that unloaded at Mountaire Farms in Candor NC, one of two large chicken feed elevators in Candor. Maybe Mountaire is raising chickens for Wendy's Saucy Nugs and this is their advertisement to make it a meal with fries and a Frosty. NS is the only class 1 that has ditchlights on both ends of all their units and I know from firsthand experience that it serves them well in a pinch when needing to run something LHF at track speed.

They can operate at track speed when no grade crossings are involved.
