Eastern Railroad Discussion > Dashing Through the Delmarva Snow !

We don't often see this much snow at once on Delmarva but there was no escaping this one as Kent and Sussex Counties were in the "Eye of the Tiger". The day after was bitter cold with high winds but trains were running and they just had to be photographed. Delmarva Central's HA-1 Clayton Turn blasts through a drift at Lynnbury Woods Road north of Cheswold on its way to the Norfolk Southern interchange.

The two NS locomotives came in on a stone load the day before. The combination of snow and freezing temps prevented the train from being dumped so DCR sent the power back to NS to avoid having it sit still for an unknown period of time.
