With only three piers there must be a huge thermal expansion and contraction. t4p. Date: 01/22/25 16:09 Re: Sciotoville Bridge. Author: howeld CPMorris Wrote:

Thanks for sending Bridge is on the line to Columbus,Toledo and Detroit. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/23/25 08:16 by CP8888. Date: 01/23/25 10:56 Re: Sciotoville Bridge. Author: timz The bridge is unusually massive -- as I recall,
one reason was that the navigation channel was under one span at low water and the other at high water. Is that still true? Date: 01/23/25 12:50 Re: Sciotoville Bridge. Author: wabash2800 Thanks for sharing a wonderful video. Your drone footage is skillful.
It is my understanding that the span across the river is about 775 feet. That would be almost 9 ft. in HO scale. Victor Baird Date: 01/23/25 13:31 Re: Sciotoville Bridge. Author: timz Each span, you mean. Two 775-ft spans.

High wind deflectors maybe. It can't be for decoration! Date: 01/27/25 16:33 Re: Sciotoville Bridge. Author: Ron I do not know very much about these photographs. Back in 2018, I got photographs and work sheets from about a dozen wrecks and incidents on the GTW, from the Son of Mr. Anders, JQ Jr. After his father passed away, he and his mother went through his Father's home office and found a group of Derailment Photographs.
The Photographs and other information shown here are from James Quinten "JQ" Anders. Retired GTW Assistant Chief Engineer. Mr. Anders passed away on March 14, 2017. I put them on my Facebook page and shared them with several groups and Current/Retired GTW/CN/DTS/DTI Employees. There is no information about these photographs. The envelope that they were in says: B & O RR SCIOTO RIVER BRIDGE. I didn't do anything with these back then because I didn't know anything about them. But seeing this thread on the Sciotoville Bridge, I got them out and scanned them. Ron ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 01/27/25 16:34 Re: Sciotoville Bridge.
